Objectives:
Students will have the opportunity to work on skills building in Language Arts and Mathematics.
Students will work on improving grades in core subjects.
Students will use time wisely to get help on material that they are struggling to master.
Students will work only on core subject homework or assignments: Math/English/History & Science
Students will build on and develop self-understanding and self-advocacy and employ this in all their classes in order to better their successful experiences in High School carrying over into College, Trade Schools and future Employment.
Expectations & Course Requirements:
Students will arrive to class every day on time.
Students will respect learning center guidelines and limits.
Students will utilize L.C. time wisely and productively.
Students will follow SJS Code: Respect, Responsibility & Relationships
Learning Center Guidelines & Limits:
Students will learn and produce.
Students will express themselves honestly.
Students will model their abilities in the classroom.
Students will arrive on time, without gum.
TRASH has to put in the proper place!
Each student MUST cooperate in keeping the L.C. Clean & Orderly
Students will become better learners & readers.
Students will develop & increase the culture of Learning.
Students will research, develop and work towards their career interests.
GRADES:
A-Students come prepared daily on time and demonstrate self-discipline.
B-Students come prepared daily on time & complete measured goals.
C-Students come prepared daily, usually on time, complete skills building, work on goals.
D-Students come to class regularly, work on skills building.
F-Students achieve less than the minimum required to fulfill class requirements either by unexcused absences and tardies, or by not being prepared or demonstrating a strong desire to achieve.
ALL STUDENTS MUST WORK ON VOCATIONAL & ACADEMIC GOALS.
